In 2016, the Productivity Commission advised the government to remove Parallel Import Restrictions (PIRs) on authors’ territorial copyright — the only thing preventing Australian work being printed overseas and dumped on our own market. Edison was outraged! We partnered with publishing agent The House of Rusher and the Australian Publishers Association to launch a campaign — from name and logo to posters, bookshop POS and social media advocacy — and made the government back down. Word power!
